Pawel Swanski was born in 1980, in Warsaw and belongs to the transformation
generation. This has allowed him to experience two realities: a grey and a colourful one, as he calls them. His early childhood was spent in what was still communist Poland.
All the political and social changes that took place in the country after 1990 had a strong influence on him and formed his way of looking at the world.

He is an artist, designer and craftsman. His playgrounds are different - from canvases, huge murals on the walls, commercial design and illustrations or handcraft like customized helmets and bikes. But it all has something in common. It’s his unique way, how he makes his lines and that his brush is his main tool. Brush is the basic for his art, design or craft.

His original series of works can be found in both painting and design.
He calls it “The Thicket”. A study of nature where nature gives and brings life, which is a constant process that we all forget it happens in everyday life.
This is why we can find so many renderings to nature and its proces.

Since early teenager years Swanski was connected to the art and design community.
Starting as an 17 years old graphic skate rookiee in a local skateboard and street culture magazine Dosdedos, then later working for European companies like Cliche
or Hessenmob while living in Germany.

Since early 2000 he designed almost 200 skateboard design for companies
like Listen, Cliche, Mob, Creation, Satori, Nomad… Lakai, Girl, Chocolate, or Element,

and its not everything. Hundreds of T-shirt designs, illustrations, logos and clothing designs have emerged from under his brush. Over the years, Swanski Studio has also provided numerous commercial animations for clients such as VH1, MTV, Viva and others.

Pawel Swanski was always combining art and design in his work, to eventually put it all together under one roof in his studio.
Everything made with brush - analog on paper then finally putting it all together using computer. Old school way in a new school way. So it doesn’t matter if its a 12 level house mural, logotype, t-shirt, illustration or a skateboard graphic its ALWAYS HANDPAINTED

That is why, especially in today’s digital times, which often exclude human, his work is particularly unique.

On the other hand we found Swanski work in galleries or on the walls around the world from Europe to States. He left his mark on the huge walls of Berlin, Bristol, Los Angeles, Warsaw, New York, Bochum, Tokyo or Taiwan.. exhibitions in Milan, Berlin, Cologne, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Basel…

His one foot was always in the art world and the second one in the design.
And in his studio EVERYTHING STARTS WITH A LINE.
